Who we are
This website is run by Mr.Tint, a car, home and commercial window tinting business at Borris Dairy Farm, Borris Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 TC04. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
Questions about this policy or your information: email info@mrtint.ie or call 083 027 2571.
What we collect and why
Contact form. When you send us a message, we receive your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, your location and your message. We use this only to reply to you and prepare a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
Online bookings. When you book an appointment, we receive your name, email address, phone number, the service, date and time you choose, and any notes you add. You may be sent a one-time code by email to confirm your details, and you can view your bookings in your customer cabinet. We use this to manage your appointment, send confirmations and reminders, and carry out the work. Appointments are added to our business calendar. The legal basis is performing our contract with you.
Deposits and payments. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on our website. Stripe also uses information about your device to prevent fraud. The legal basis is performing our contract with you and our legal obligation to keep financial records.
WhatsApp. If you tap our WhatsApp button, you leave our website and the conversation takes place on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated spam. reCAPTCHA checks your device and how you use the page, and Google receives information such as your IP address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping our forms secure.
Google reviews and fonts. Our reviews section shows reviewers’ names and photos from Google, and some text styles load from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to load these, which shares your IP address with Google.
Website analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited and whether someone taps to call, sends a form or makes a booking. We do not use this to identify you. The legal basis is your consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We only share it with the service providers we need to run the business and this website:
- Our website provider and hosting company, who host the website, its email and booking records.
- Stripe, for card payments and fraud prevention.
- Google, for our business calendar, reCAPTCHA, Google Fonts, Google reviews and, with your consent, Google Analytics.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us there.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 12 months if they do not lead to a booking. If you book or pay for a job, we keep the related records for as long as Irish tax and accounting law requires, normally six years. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
